Beyond green
At our May 2023 event, Thomas Panton and Hugo Douglas-Deane introduced us to their revolutionary new business, Canopey. They’d just rebranded the business, and explained why. And since the event, very excitingly, Canopey has gone live. Hugo says:
Our mission as a company has always been to break out of the ‘eco-conscious echo chamber’. While we always loved our old name ‘Greenr’, it didn’t always appeal to the wider audience, especially those who didn’t identify with the environmental movement.
‘Canopey’ is all about giving everyone a home for buying better, bringing trusted, sustainable products together under one roof. It’s simple, short and friendly, while retaining a natural connection. We also wanted to create a sense of inclusivity: reducing your impact can mean many things, so whether you’re vegan or you want to cut out plastic, you can live out your values on Canopey. You never have to journey out into the unknown again.
